Gattuso Out for the Season

AC Milan could use David Beckham now more than ever.

Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso suffered knee ligament damage this weekend against Catania and the injury will likely end his season.

Milan posted a statement on their website saying, "AC Milan would like to communicate that Gennaro Gattuso has undergone a scan following the injury he sustained against Catania. The results of the tests have revealed an injury to his anterior cruciate ligament."

This injury could leave Gattuso out for up to 6 months.

This is a huge loss for Milan as Gattuso is always the hardest worker on the field and is vital to their defensive success.

In other Serie A injury news:

Marco Materazzi Fractures Cheekbone

Inter Milan defender Marco Materazzi has suffered a broken cheekbone in Inter's 2-1 loss to Werder Bremen in the Champions League.

Materazzi was involved in a collision in the first half of the game, and was substituted out at half time.

It seems the injury will most likely keep Materazzi out of action until at least January.

This is also bad news for Inter as they are already dealing with a rash of injuries.

Hello
it is a pity and of course AC Milan will have many problems with his absence, since although Ambrosini or Emerson are good players, they are not like Gennaro.
