Steven Gerrard Arrested!

Following a 2 goal performance in Liverpool's 5-1 win over Newcastle, Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has been arrested by Merseyside police.

Gerrard was one of six men who were arrested by police after a brawl in the Lounge Inn in Southport, Merseyside.

A 34 year old man was taken to the hospital with non serious facial injuries.

Liverpool is not commenting on the incident.

The details of this incident is still unclear, but hopefully it is a situation where Gerrard was targeted or provoked by someone who hates Liverpool rather than a situation that Gerrard put himself in.

UPDATE:

The FA has determined that they will not punish Gerrard unless he is proven guilty of assault by authorities. This means that Gerrard will be able to play in England's match against Spain on February 11th.

Liverpool spokesperson has said the Gerrard will get "all the support he needs"
I'm not sure if this means legally as well as whatever non-financial support they are clearly offering.
He played really well in both the Newcastle and Bolton games (the past two, i was at Anfield for the Bolton game), and is a complete legend. i have a lot of respect from Gerrard, and I really hope that the outcome of this case doesn't diminish it (of course, as with Ronaldo, even if he is a horrible person I will still be able to love how he plays).
