Ronaldo Putting Unneeded Pressure on Man U

After winning the Champions League title with Manchester United this season, Cristiano Ronaldo has left open the possibility for a transfer to another team, most likely Real Madrid.

Ronaldo, who is only 1 year into his 5 year contract with Man U, had said he will announce within the next 2 weeks where is will be playing next season. Ronaldo said, "I want to do this the right way. If I end up staying, thats fine. If I leave, that's fine too."

To me this seems like an attempt for Ronaldo to simply make more money. Ronaldo signed his 5 year deal in April last year for 237,600 a week.  Newspapers are speculating that Real Madrid is prepared to offer him 435,600 a week for his services.

More then likely Ronaldo will sign a new deal with Manchester for more money and play for Real Madrid sometime in the future. All of this speculation is unneeded however and is not something Ronaldo should be focusing on with Euro 08 coming up.

Nice picture! I agree with your point "More then likely Ronaldo will sign a new deal with Manchester for more money and play for Real Madrid sometime in the future."

I disagree on "All of this speculation is unneeded however and is not something Ronaldo should be focusing on with Euro 08 coming up." It's the press who's focusing on this. Cristiano Ronaldo said clearly in the Viseu Portugal training camp team press conference Saturday that one will know of his future "in 2 or 3 weeks and it's not worth it to keep talking about."

But you see by saying you will know my future in 2 or 3 weeks is a vague answer to a direct question of whether or not he will be on Man U next season.

By him not coming out and saying yes I will be with Man U, or no i am going to see what Real Madrid offers me, it allows for the press to write whatever they want.

And the press has the right to write whatever they want because Ronaldo isn't doing enough to answer questions definitivly.
