Breaking News: Ferdinand in the Hospital

Breaking news out of Manchester is Manchester United captain Rio Ferdinand has been taken to the hospital with a rib injury.

Sir Alex Ferguson said, "He's got a crack on the ribs."

I'm not sure if this means Ferdinand's rib is broken, but Ferguson does not think that Ferdinand will be fit for Man United's next game against Arsenal.

The injury supposedly happened when Ferdinand collided with Eduardo. 

This could be very bad news for Man United, as Vidic and Ferdinand completely shut down the Arsenal attack today. 

This could be the 2nd defender to get injured in the Champions League, as Barcelona's Rafel Marquez recently sustained a season ending injury.
