Champions League Results

6 teams were in action today in Champions League qualifying matches.

Juventus advance in 1-1 draw

Juventus was held to a 1-1 draw with Artmedia but advanced easily 5-1 on aggregate.

Artmedia jumped out to an early 1-0 lead off a beautiful goal from Branislav Fodrek in the 14th minute.

Watch the awesome bicycle kick:

Juventus got the goal back in the 25th minute thanks to a header by Amauri, who is trying to make his case for a starting spot on the team.

Juventus didn't necessarily dominate the game, but they didn't have to.

Barcelona lose, but still win

Barcelona had a very off night, and lost 1-0 to Wisla Krakow, but advanced 4-1 on aggregate to move into the next round of the Champions Leauge.

This match was the first loss for Barcelona in the 8 matches they have played under new coach Pep Guardiola.

The attacking duo of Samuel Eto and Thierry Henry looked good at times, but couldn't produce a goal.

Like the Juventus game, Barcelona fans shouldn't be worried about La Liga, but Barcelona shouldn't assume they can just waltz their way into the Champions League final.

Panathinaikos defeat Sparta Prague 1-0

Panathinaikos went into this match winning 2-1 on aggregate, and won this match to ensure their place in the Champions League group stage.

A late goal in the 90th minute by Rodrigo Souza was the difference in the match.
