Liverpool was going into this match with a 0-0 aggregate against Standard Liege and it took them 90 minutes to finally score a goal and advance into the next round of the Champions League.

Dirk Kuyt scored the goal for Liverpool in stoppage time to give Liverpool an unimpressive win.

Atletico Score 4 and Advance

Atletico Madrid needed to win this match against Schalke in order to advance to the Champions League group stage. They did just that, winning 4-0 and moving on with a 4-1 aggregate.

Goals were scored by Aguero, Forlan, Luis Garcia, Maxi Rodriguez, and Schalke will now be playing in the UEFA tournament this season.

Fiorentina Advance with Draw

Fiorentina was held to a 0-0 draw with Slavia Prague, but advanced 2-0 on aggregate.
